William Perry Mathis of Zeigler, Illinois, September 13, 1952 – January 21, 2014

William Perry Mathis, 61, of Zeigler, Illinois passed away at 7:36 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Herrin Hospital.
Perry was born September 13, 1952 in Sterling to Elmer Albert and Bessie Ann (Armstrong) Mathis.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Mathis of Chicago and Pauline (Mathis) Gregge of Mulkeytown; three grandchildren, Dakota, Payton and KayLee Gregge; his girlfriend, Juliana Zaragossa of Zeigler; three brothers, Donald Mathis of Zeigler, Albert Mathis of West Frankfort and Joshua Mathis and a sister, Alene Stevenson both of Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
Perry was an Army veteran serving Germany during the Viet Nam War.  He was a retired truck driver for Cardinal Trucking in Coal City and had worked for Mobile Chemical in Frankfort.
Family memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Zeigler Eagles Lodge.  Family and friends are asked to gather at the Eagles.  There will be no visitation or burial services.
