Charles Franklin Marks of Royalton, Illinois, January 4, 1917 – May 9, 2019

Charles Franklin “Frank” Marks, 102, of Royalton, Illinois passed away at 7:40 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Helia Healthcare of Energy.
Frank was born January 4, 1917 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Albert Lynn and Agnes Chloe (Pallissero) Marks.
He married Tressa E. Morris March 22, 1941 in Jackson, Missouri.  She preceded him in death September 17, 1996.
He is survived by a daughter, Janice Dardeen of Royalton; three grandchildren, Mike Grant of Johnston City, Kelly Dardeen of Royalton and Tammy Lentz of Carterville; three great grandchildren, Zayne Grant, Brennan and Macey Lentz; two step-daughters, Karen Ewell of Galatia, Robin  Koehl of West Frankfort; a step-son, Randy Howell of Marion and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, a son, Charles F. Marks, a granddaughter, Debra Grant, a daughter and son-in-law, John and Carletta Grant and sons-in-law, James Dardeen and Mike Lindhorst; his second wife, Eileen Moore Howell Marks and 7 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Marks was a member of the Royalton First Christian Church.  He was a retired coal miner who last worked at the Waltonville Number 3 Mine and a member of the UMWA Local Union.
Funeral services for Mr. Marks will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton with Pastor Don Wright officiating.  Burial will be at Miners Cemetery east of Royalton.  Visiting hours are from 5 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
