Ethel Mae Antonich of Zeigler, IL, February 5, 1929 – July 27, 2012

Ethel Mae Antonich, 83, of Zeigler passed away at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July
27, 2012 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.

Ethel was born February 5, 1929 in Zeigler to Stephan J. and Matilda
(Horvatin) Antonich.

She is survived by two nieces, Michelle Simmons of Marion, Stephanie
Staniowski of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. She is also survived by
several great nieces and nephews, Amy Schmaltz, Lisa and Joey Staniowski,
Justin, Jason and Jordan Simmons.

Her parents and two brothers, Robert L. and Charles Antonich preceded her in

Ms. Antonich was a member of the St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Catholic Church
in Royalton. She worked at Kohlsdorf’s Inc. in Zeigler as a bookkeeper for
many years. She was past president of the retails clerks International
Association (RCIA). Ethel enjoyed bowling before her health began to fail.

Funeral services for Ms. Antonich will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July
31, 2012 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler with Fr. Sean Palas
officiating. Interment will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery east of

Visiting hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home
where at prayer service will held at 5:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the
Marion Regional Humane (No Kill) Animal Shelter. Memorial envelopes are
available at the funeral home.
